AG TO UT: RELEASE ER CONTRACT

Well, well, well.  It appears that UTMB will have to release that emergency room contract I asked for a while back after all.  For readers unfamiliar with the situation, UTMB RIF'd 5 ER faculty after Hurricane Ike and then, wouldn't you know, 11 more walked, leaving one--that's uno--ER faculty member remaining.  So, as one reader aptly put it, administration had to find some "rent-a-docs."  When I asked for the contract, UT appealed to the AG.  Via a 1/27/10 letter, the AG told UT to cough it up.  We'll see how much that contract cost the taxpayers shortly.  Please open the link below to view the Texas Attorney General's letter to the University of Texas:
